Secure redaction. On export every page is rasterised — the hidden text is no longer in the file and cannot be selected or copied out. Perfect for lawyers, HR and journalists who need to share documents without leaking personal data.

How it works

  1. 1Upload PDF. Drop the document or pick one from your device.
  2. 2Mark what to hide. Drag boxes over names, ID numbers and other sensitive details.
  3. 3Choose colour. Black for standard redaction, white for receipts and forms.
  4. 4Export securely. Click Export — pages get rasterised and the hidden text is gone.

FAQ

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. All redaction happens locally in your browser — the document never leaves your device and no sign-in is required.
Is this really enough to hide sensitive information?
Yes. We use rasterised redaction: every page is redrawn as an image with your black boxes burned in. The hidden text is no longer in the exported PDF, so it cannot be selected or copied out.
How is this different from a black rectangle in Acrobat?
A regular annotation sits on top of the text — the text remains in the file and can be extracted. This method rasterises the page on export so the redaction is permanent.
Does the file keep searchable text?
No. To make the redaction safe, pages are turned into images. If you need searchable text afterwards, run the result through an OCR tool.
Which files work?
PDF files primarily. For DOCX, images and screenshots — use Mask Image or convert the document to PDF first.
